Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Ok, so I haven’t posted with details about the venues we went to yesterday (which, in the end, we only went to one, but more about that later).

Instead, I’ve spent the afternoon trawling the interwebs for more inspiration, and put together an inspiration mood board.  I’ll admit – there was a motive, it’s part of my entry to the Rock My Wedding Real Brides search.  But I still loved doing it, and it also pushed me towards narrowing down what I really do and don’t like.

So here it is, my wedding inspiration mood board!  Enjoy 🙂

Bridesmaids’ Dresses..

Ok, here they are, I think I’ve found the dresses that will really make the day…

Ha ha ha, ok, not really!!  But this did make me laugh – what would my best girls say if I was really serious?!  I think I’d get a slap and/or be looking for three new bridesmaids!!

So, on a more serious note, I know I’ve not got a date, or a venue, let alone a colour scheme or a theme, but I think I’m edging towards what I think I might like.  Here’s a few samples:

This one is called ‘Corine’ (it’s even got a pretty name!) from Coast

This one is also from Coast, called ‘Constance’

And finally, these two dresses are from the ‘Debut’ range at Debenhams:

The gold is a bit of a curve-ball, but other than that, there’s a theme of pale colours going on… might just be because that’s all I seem to be able to find in the stores I like at this time of year, but I’ve really gone off the bold and dark colours.  I’m still thinking about a turquoise / teal colour, but I’m yet to find something in both a style and a colour I like (except that one at the wedding dress shop.. which unfortunately was WAY out of my price-range!).  Which is probably a good thing, it might be a bit premature buying bridesmaids dresses over a year in advance!

I just love to shop!  I’m thinking Westfields might be a good place to start?!  Saw it on the way to / from the National Wedding Show back in February.. I’ve been itching to go back..

more flowers!!

OMG I just found some more amazing flower designs (again, my thoughts are just all over the place at the moment, so they’re quite different, but here we go!)

These are all from Twisted Willow designs:

And the more I look, the more I think I’m being able to come to a conclusion about what I like, and what I don’t.

I think for me, there’s a fine line between what looks pretty, and what looks messy.  And I definitely want pretty over messy..

Case in point – some of the ‘flower balls’ I’ve seen look lovely (which is what I’m currently considering for my bridesmaids), and when they’re symmetrical and even (and not messy!), they look great.  Others look like someone has tried to squash in as many flowers as possible to make it look full, and it just doesn’t work.  Here’s a ‘yes’ (ok the colour isn’t my thing, and the feathers.. well, but you get the impression):

And here’s a no.. it just looks all higgledy-piggledy…

So I think for me, as the bride, I’ll be going for a long bouquet, rather than a round one, something like either of these:

Aaah, aren’t they lovely!  Ok I’m going to stop looking now, otherwise I could go on forever!
